Today we have a really fun, local Bay Area wedding for you! Cherlyn Wagner, of C Wagner Photography, shared her story shooting a rehearsal dinner and wedding.
I’ll let her tell the story:
This Mexican Jewish wedding rehearsal of this San Francisco couple, Noemi and Jose “Pepe” was an exciting adventure I was honored to participate in. I love going to the rehearsals because it’s an even more intimate event than the wedding day itself. It was an intimate evening with just the couple’s friends and family present.
The stories told by the family and friends were a riot, and by the end of the night, I feel like I was part of the inner circle, part of the family, which makes capturing their actual wedding day a delight.
The wedding day was chock full of entertainment and surprises – a flashmob performed an except from Fiddler on the Roof that turned into the hora dance! The couple definitely kept me and the guest on our toes!
Noemi and Jose also put a lot of their own work with their help of their friends to truly make the wedding a personal and intimate affair. Noemi wrote a song that represented their love and of San Francisco (Parque Dolores – Dolores Park – where they had their engagement photos done).
While most weddings are detailed oriented, this wedding was all about the couple and their personality through paella (Pepe is known for his paella!) and entertainment (the bride is a performance artist – Feminem, which won a Jewish short film award in 2007).
They topped off the night with a dance performance choreographed by the two of them. After all they met at a dance club at the El Rio in San Francisco, so it was only fitting to end it showing off their dance moves.
